What do brands ask before working with Volition?
The questions that come up on almost every first call, answered in full.
What does Volition do?
Volition runs conversion rate optimization for direct-to-consumer e-commerce brands. It studies how shoppers move through a store, turns the findings into written hypotheses, tests the strongest ones against a control group and records every decision. The goal is more revenue from the traffic a brand already pays for.
Who is Volition for?
Direct-to-consumer brands with eight-figure annual revenue, selling online in any country. At that size traffic is rarely the constraint. What the store does with each visit decides how much of the ad budget turns into revenue.
How is this different from a website redesign?
A redesign changes many things at once, so nobody can say afterwards which change helped and which one hurt. Volition changes one thing per test and compares it with the current version, at the same time and on the same traffic, so each decision rests on its own evidence.
Why does every test need a control group?
Promotions, ad spend, seasons and press coverage move conversion every week. The control group lives through all of that too, which leaves the change itself as the only difference between the two groups. A before-and-after comparison cannot separate the two.
When is a test finished?
When the plan written before launch says so. The main metric, the audience, the confidence level and the minimum run time are fixed before the first visitor sees the variant. A test is never stopped early because the number happens to look good that day.
What happens when a test shows no clear difference?
The current version stays live and the result goes into the learning log. Shipping a change that only looked better can cost revenue for months, so an unclear result is treated as a reason to keep what works. It still tells you where the next test should look.
Does every store need A/B testing?
No. Research, funnel analysis, session recordings, checkout reviews and customer surveys work at any traffic level. Split tests are used where a page has enough traffic to give a clear answer in a sensible time. Elsewhere, changes come from research and are watched closely after release.
What happens before and during the first call?
You book a slot and share your store URL and your monthly revenue. Before the call you receive a short Loom video that walks through the biggest points of friction on your store. The call itself takes 20 to 30 minutes and covers what was found and whether a testing programme makes sense for your brand.
Who does the work?
Mikail Toprak, the founder of Volition, leads every engagement personally. He is your point of contact from the first call onward and signs off every test plan and every decision.
Which testing tools does Volition use?
Volition works inside the testing and analytics tools your team already uses, so your data and your licence stay yours. If you have no testing tool yet, one is chosen together with you based on your platform and traffic.
How is the fee set?
The fee depends on your store, your traffic and the scope of the programme. It is agreed after the first call, once both sides know what the work involves.
Where is Volition based?
In Waldenbuch, near Stuttgart, Germany. The work is delivered remotely and in English, for brands in any country.
